Volunteer Agreement

What is a Volunteer?

A volunteer is someone who contributes their time and energy to help with event-related tasks. This may include preparation in the weeks or months leading up to the event, or hands-on help during the event itself. Volunteers are not expected to attend planning meetings or make decisions — that is the role of the organizing committee.

Volunteer Requirements

• Must be 14 years of age or older

• Must complete and sign this agreement before participating

• Must represent Sharkapalooza positively and professionally

Minor Volunteer Policy (Under 14)

Volunteers under the age of 14 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian at all times while participating in Sharkapalooza activities.

By submitting this form, the parent or legal guardian confirms:

• They will remain onsite during the volunteer shift

• They assume full responsibility for supervision of the minor

• They accept all risks associated with participation

• They release Sharkapalooza Inc., its officers, board members, volunteers, sponsors, and partners from liability related to the minor’s participation

Volunteer Tasks May Include:

• Assisting with prep work (e.g., social media, marketing, graphic design, sponsorship/vendor outreach, packaging raffle items, assembling materials)

• Helping with event setup or breakdown

• Staffing the raffle table, info booth, or kids' area

• Supporting artists or vendors

• Welcoming and directing attendees

Time Commitment

We ask that volunteers communicate their availability in advance and sign up for shifts or tasks that reflect the time they can realistically give leading up to the event and/or the day of the event.

Volunteer Perks

• Sharkapalooza volunteer T-shirt (while supplies last)

• Community service hours (if applicable)

• Experience in a fun, mission-driven event environment

Liability Waiver

By signing this agreement, I acknowledge that I am voluntarily participating as a volunteer for Sharkapalooza 2026. I understand that volunteering may involve certain risks, including but not limited to physical activity, interaction with event attendees, and working with equipment or materials. I hereby release, indemnify, and hold harmless Sharkapalooza Inc, Fuzzy Sharks, Design Pod LLC, its organizers, staff, and affiliates from any and all liability, claims, or demands for injury, illness, loss, or damages arising from my participation as a volunteer.

Media & Photography Release

I grant permission to Sharkapalooza Inc, Fuzzy Sharks, and Design Pod LLC to use photographs, video, or audio recordings of me taken during the event for promotional, educational, and marketing purposes, without compensation.

Dismissal Clause

Sharkapalooza Inc, Fuzzy Sharks, and Design Pod LLC reserves the right to remove any volunteer at any time for conduct that is disruptive, unprofessional, or not aligned with our mission.

Acknowledgment

By signing below, I confirm:

●      I agree to fulfill my assigned role(s) and communicate clearly

●      I understand that Sharkapalooza may ask me to step down at any time
